Day 3

In the next day, I stayed in Jeju for 3 days and 2 nights. I took the morning flight to Jeju from Gimpo Airport using Eastar Jet at 6.20 am. It was cloudy but grateful it was not raining during in Jeju. The temperature in Jeju is not as cold as in Seoul. It was only 7-8 degrees, but it was still freezing because of the wind breeze!

Same as before, the check in time hotel is at 3 pm, so I walked around the hotel and found Jeju Dongmun Traditional Market. They sell many souvenirs such as Hanrabong Juice, chocolates, and any kinds of foods that I don’t know what is the name. I tried the oranges or the local said ‘Hanrabong’. It was actually a little bit sour, but they said it sour because of the weather. In summer, the fruits much sweeter than in winter.

They cannot speak English, so make sure you have the internet connection to check the meanings in Google Translate hehehe.

On the market, I found a place that sells ‘Tteok-bokki’ cost 3.500 won. This is one of the filming locations of the variety show ‘Running Man’.

On my way back to the hotel, I found a shopping street and bought Starbucks tumbler Christmas edition and got free drinks. I chose Jeju Matcha Shot Latte and Jeju Hoji Shot Latte. It was only in Jeju and it tasted good! You should try!

Jeju is famous for black pork, and luckily there was a famous restaurant that sells black pork near my hotel. But I already ate black pork in Jeju Dongmun Market, so I didn’t get a chance to try it here. The black pork cost approximately 10.000 won.

Seafood in Jeju is also fresh, because Jeju is an island that you can see beautiful blue sea here.

I ate seafood ramyeon for dinner that costs 7.000 won.

Note:

1. In Korea, it’s provided side dish and free drinks (water or coffee) in each table or some places provide a dispenser, so you don’t have to be worry. But you have to pay for cokes or soju.

2. There’s no subway in Jeju, you have to take a bus or taxi. But, if you want to go to a tourist attraction in Jeju, I recommend you to rent a car all day because the distance between tourist attraction such as Seongsan, Sangumburi Crater, Camellia Hill, etc is far from the city. It’s approximately taking 1 hour. You’ll be wasting your time if you’re taking a bus. For the rental car information and prices, you can find it in Jeju airport, or you can contact below.

Day 4

On my 4th day, I rent a car to surround the beautiful Jeju Island. The car rental costs 130.000 won per 8 hours. My driver, Mr. Cheon Jung Tae, was kind and friendly! He even gave me a gift (I’ll tell you sequentially). You can contact him via whatsapp and he can speak English even though not fluent.

Seongsan Ilchulbong was my first destination. It was still cloudy and windy. The wind was completely freezing me up! My fingers numb and my ears hurt, but the scenery was perfectly worth only with 2.000 won! I thank God for suddenly giving me a sunshine to reduce the cold. It took around 30 minutes to hike until the top. You should prepare drinks because the cold weather makes your throat dry. If you have more time, you should go to watch a woman diver performance because it also popular in Jeju.

It was already 1 pm, so I asked the driver for having lunch first and he took me to a delicious noodle soup restaurant. The portion was actually big for 1 person, but no worries, because the hike to Seongsan made me hungry. This clam noodles soup costs 8.000 won.

The second destination was Jusangjeolli Cliff. It also costs 2.000 won for 1 person. You only need to walk for 5 minutes and queue for taking pictures.

Furthermore, I went to O’sulloc Tea Museum. This is a heaven for green tea lovers because it sells all the green tea things, such as chocolate, tea, cleansing foam, even the cake and drinks. I really wanted to buy a green tea cleansing foam costs 15.000 won, but I changed my mind and just bought green tea chocolate and tea. After called Mr Cheon to ask where he was, I got back to the car and found Mr Cheon inside. He suddenly gave me a drinking water and the cleansing foam that I want to buy before!! I was really surprised and happy! Thanks to Mr. Cheon!

The last destination before heading back to hotel was Mysterious Road Nohyeongdong. My driver explained to me that the road is slightly uphill, but the car can walk uphill when the car engine is turned off. There were another tour that came to see this road, the tour guide tried to pour water in that road and the water flowed upwards when it should be flowed down. It's so interesting, right?

For the last dinner in Jeju, I went to the nearest McDonalds and tried Bulgogi Cheese Burger. If I’m not mistaken, it costs 6.900 won with fries and coke.

Note:

1. There is no sink at fast food restaurants, but they provide plastic gloves or wet tissue. However, I still recommend you to bring your own wet tissue.

2. You have to pay for chili sauce.
